Ingredients
A few slices bacon
3 lb. ground beef or steak cut into bite size chunks
1 large onion, sliced 1/2-inch thick
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 28-oz. cans whole tomatoes
1 can navy beans, rinsed and drained
1 can red beans, rinsed and drained
2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder

Directions
Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces. Cook bacon and remove to drain. Add beef to pan and cook in bacon grease until done. Drain any excess fat. Put beef and half of bacon back into pan. Reduce heat, add onions and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is tender.

Add tomatoes with juice, beans, and chili powder to taste. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 2 hour, stirring occasionally. Add water or tomato juice to desired consistency. Season to taste. Top servings with cheese, crumbled bacon, and a spoonful of sour cream.
