Amnicon Falls This waterfall drops in a graceful cascade into the Amnicon River. Enjoy camping, hiking, nature trails and fishing in the park. About 10 miles SE of Superior in Amnicon Falls State Park, Douglas County. Big Manitou Falls Wisconsin's highest fall rumbles 165 feet into the Black River. Spectacular scenic overlooks, camping, hiking, nature trails, swimming, boating and fishing are all available nearby. About 13 miles S of Superior in Pattison State Park, Douglas County. Big Smokey Falls Height 20 feet. This is a powerful and complicated waterfall. It is not very high or steep, but there is a lot of water and plenty of rocks. Unfortunately there is no easily accessible vantage point from which you can get a very good look at the falls. Brownstone Falls This waterfall drops 30 feet into the Tyler Forks River. Enjoy camping, boating, swimming, fishing, nature trails and concessions in the park. In Copper Falls State Park about 5 miles N of Mellen. Ashland County. Cascade Falls Height 25 feet. This pretty waterfall is located along Route 35 in the middle of the village of Osceola along the St. Croix River. It is easy to visit, and close to many other scenic sights. Definitely worth a visit. Copper Falls Copper Falls drops 40 feet into the Bad River. Camping, boating, swimming, fishing, nature trails and concessions are available in the park. In Copper Falls State Park about 5 miles N of Mellen, Ashland County. Dave's Falls The park offers a great picnic area, restroom facilities and playground. About 1/2-mile S of Amberg off Hwy 141 on the Pike River in Dave's Falls County Park, Marinette County. Eighteen Foot Falls The largest of the "foot" Falls in Marinette County. Dave's Falls is much easier to visit, as is the far more impressive Long Slide Falls. Fonferek Falls This waterfall was created by Bower Creek tumbling 25 feet down the Niagra Escarpment. Enjoy a limestone- walled gorge with a stone archway. Four miles S of Green Bay at Fonferek Glen County Park, Brown County. Foster Falls Foster Falls drops 25 feet into the Potato River. This is a remote location. Five miles N of Upson, Iron County. Gile Falls A walking trail connects a snowmobile bridge crossing the top of this waterfall, with a scenic overlook near the road. Gile Falls drops about 15 feet into the West Fork of the Montreal River. This is an Iron County Heritage Site. About 2 miles SW of Hurley in the town of Gile, Iron County. Kimball Falls Enjoy the picnic area and rustic pavilion in the park on the Montreal River. About 5 miles NW of Hurley in Kimball Town Park, Iron County. La Salle Falls With a 22-foot plummet, LaSalle Falls is the most impressive waterfall in the area. The trail ends at the 35-foot rock outcrop next to the falls, but the best view on foot is to climb down a steep and challenging hill to the base of the falls. On the Pine River about 9 miles S of Florence, Florence County. Lake of the Falls The falls drop 10 feet into the Turtle River. Enjoy picnic facilities, rustic camping and a boat landing with access to the Turtle Flowage via the Turtle River. This is an Iron County Heritage Site. About 6 miles W of Mercer in Lake of the Falls County Park, Iron County. Little Manitou Falls Little Manitou Falls drop 30 feet into the Black River, 13 miles S of Superior. The falls are split and very scenic. Enjoy camping, hiking, nature trails, swimming, boating and fishing in the park. The highlight of Pattison State Park, Douglas County. Long Slide Falls This scenic waterfall drops about 50 feet through the rocks. You may hike from here to Smalley Falls, about 1/2-mile NW along the Pike River. About 4 to 5 miles NE of Pembine on the Pike River, Marinette County. Lower and Middle Gooseberry Falls A pair of pretty and easy to visit waterfalls, right of of Hwy 61. The upper falls is also just a short walk away. McClintock Falls This waterfall is a series of rapids with bridges for exceptional views. About 15 miles W of Amberg on the Peshtigo River, in McClintock Park, Marinette County. Morgan Falls This waterfall drops into an unnamed tributary of Morgan Creek. West of Mellen in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Ashland County. Orienta Falls At the Orienta Dam on the Iron River, Bayfield County. Peterson Falls These picturesque falls drop 35 feet into the Montreal River. This is a remote location requiring hiking with map and compass. About a mile N of Hurley, Iron County. Potato Falls, lower This is one of the most impressive waterfalls in all of Wisconsin, especially if you are looking for some adventure. The waterfall is large, easy to find and provides all sorts of opportunities for exploration. There is also a nearby upper falls that is equally as impressive. Definitely worth visiting. Potato Falls, upper This is the just upstream of the most impressive waterfalls in all of Wisconsin, and is an interesting waterfall all by itself, especially if you are looking for some adventure. This is a large, hard to see all at once waterfall, but definitely worth visiting. Potato River Falls This waterfall is one of the highest and most picturesque in Iron County, dropping 90 feet into the Potato River. Enjoy picnic sites and rustic camping in the park. About 30 miles W of Hurley in a town park, Iron County. Red Granite Falls This is really a set of rapids instead of a waterfall. It is in Copper Falls State Park. If after visiting Copper Falls and Brownstone Fall you are looking for a nice hike and a chance to walk around on some rocks, go visit the Red Granite Falls area. Rice Lake Falls The falls drop 10 feet into the Turtle River in a series of rapids. This is a remote location. About 3 miles NW of Mercer, Iron County. Rock Cut Falls The 15-foot falls can be viewed from a former railroad bridge on the "Ironhorse" ATV and snowmobile trail. It is one of the prettiest spots in Iron County. This is a remote location accessible by ATV or mountain bike. About 3 miles W of Hurley on the Montreal River, Iron County. Saxon Falls Saxon Falls is three miles upstream from Superior Falls on the Montreal River in Iron County. Shay's Dam Falls This waterfall drops 15 feet into the Turtle River. A fine picnic area. About 6 miles NE of Mercer, Iron County. Siskiwit Falls About 1 mile E of Cornucopia on the Siskiwit River, Bayfield County. Slough Gundy About 16 miles W of Phillips on the South Fork of the Flambeau River, Price County. Snake Pit Falls A curious small waterfall near several other waterfalls. Worth a visit as part of a waterfall tour of northern Wisconsin. Spring Camp Falls This waterfall drops 20 feet into the Montreal River. This is a remote location. About 7 miles S of Hurley, Iron County. Strong Falls Enjoy the Picturesque park on the Peshtigo River, with camping facilities, picnic area and playground. About 15 miles W of Amberg in Goodman Park, Marinette County. Superior Falls One of the highest waterfalls in the area, Superior Falls drops 90 feet into the Montreal River near its mouth on Lake Superior. An Iron County Heritage Site. View from 1 mile E of Saxon Harbor just across the Michigan state line, Iron County. Twelve Foot Falls The park, on the Pike River, offers camping and picnic areas, trout fishing and scenic beauty. A five-minute walk through the camping area brings you to Eight Foot Falls. About a mile north of the park you can visit Eighteen Foot Falls. About 8 miles SW of Pembine at Twelve Foot Falls County Park, Marinette County. Upson Falls This small waterfall is a delight. Picnic area, pavillion, camping and children's play area are all available. In the Upson Community Park, Iron County. Veteran's Falls The park, on the Thunder River, has a wooden bridge, camping and picnicking facilities. About 10 miles W of Crivitz in Veteran's Memorial Park, Marinette County. Wequiock Falls This waterfall is a result of the Niagara Escarpment and is one of the Lake Michigan Waterfalls. It is easy to visit, and in the spring it is fairly impressive, but it is reduced to a trickle in the summer. Willow Falls The recently restored Willow Falls is one of the most scenic waterfalls in Wisconsin. The falls is easy to visit and very user friendly. Wren Falls The falls drop 15 feet into the Tyler Forks. Fishing and primite camping available. This is a remote location. About 5 miles NW of Upson, Iron County. |
