Recreational motor vehicles (RMVs) [also referred to as off-highway vehicles (OHVs)], include all terrain vehicles (ATVs), off-highway motorcycles (OHMs) and off-road vehicles (ORVs) such as 4x4 trucks or Jeeps. Minnesota has about 1,000 miles of RMV trails.

NOTICE:
 In spring 2002 the DNR is temporarily closing some RMV trails and forest roads and trails to motorized travel, to avoid harmful impacts during wet spring soil conditions. The temporary closures will continue until conditions improve, which could be a couple of weeks or so depending on temperatures and rainfall. The season opening dates below may not apply. Check the regularly updated list of trail closures.
