  • Catedral de Morelia

  • In the year 1660 under the command of the Viceroy Duke of Albuquerque, morelians started to build this majestic cathedral laying by hand one brick of pink quarry at a time. It took them 84 years to build this outstanding three facades cathedral. With its 229 feet tall towers, the Cathedral can be seen from several miles away in almost any point in the city. Beautifully designed with a baroque style on the outside, its interior is not a simple one. Neoclassic style carvings on wood and quarry, different ornaments resembling the doric order, a silver cast baptismal font and a monumental 4,600 pipes organ, are only some of the wonderful things that make this cathedral a must when you visit Morelia.
  • Morelos birth home.

  • The original home where on September 30th 1765, our National Hero Don Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon was born.
  • Temple of Santa Rosa and The De Las Rosas Music Conservatory.

  • Built in 1738, the baroque style Temple of Santa Rosa and its adjacent building served as a boarding school for girls. Now a day it is the home of one of the most prolific music conservatories in the country.
