Eagle on Lake Holcombe
We were on the lake August 9th, when I spotted a young eagle headed back to a nest high in a tree along the shore. As I took the pontoon closer an adult eagle came back and landed in another tree close by, trying to get my attention away from the nest I assume. As we drifted further away I started the motor to get back into position so that I could take these pictures. When the adult eagle saw this he/she must have thought that we were leaving and went to the nest. However when he/she saw that I was coming in closer again the adult began flying over head, checking us out. Apparently we passed the test as the adult went back to the nest, still keeping a watchful eye on us.
I went past the nest again yesterday and didn’t see any adult eagles only two young ones.
